To help plan construction work to not only refurbish Bedminster Bridges, but to transform how people travel over them, investigatory and preparatory work will take place from 16 February for around three weeks.

Proposed changes to multi-million pound transport projects to be considered

Bus Route 2 and Broadmead are two of six major projects, designed to improve sustainable transport options across the city, that are set to be reviewed by Bristol City Council’s Transport and Connectivity Committee when they meet on Thursday 5 February 2026.

Whiteladies Road project extended into the new year

Construction work, to prevent water from pooling and to improve walking, wheeling and cycling routes on the lower part of Whiteladies Road, has started up again after onsite investigations into underground drainage issues were completed.

Portway Park & Ride bus entrance to close for new gates to be installed

The final phase of a project to upgrade Portway Park & Ride’s bus entrance, to allow buses from the northwest of the city and beyond to access the Park & Ride site, is taking place this month.

Portway Park & Ride’s remodelled bus entrance to reopen

Work to remodel the junction that buses use to access the Park & Ride on the A4 Portway is almost complete, and the number 9 bus will be able to stop at the site from 12 September 2025.

Construction work, to prevent flooding and improve walking and cycling routes on a stretch of Whiteladies Road between its junctions with Tyndalls Park Road/St Pauls Road and Queens Road, will start on Monday 14 July 2025.
