Roman Way, between its junctions with the Portway and Sabrina Way

Description of work and disruption
Work is starting on the third phase of the A4 Portway project, and will include site clearance, drainage and kerb works.
A diversion will be in place for motor vehicles.
Access to properties on Roman Way will be maintained.
Access for pedestrians and cyclists
At least one side of the pavement will remain open and access to the pedestrian crossing on the Portway will be retained.
Cyclists will be accommodated where possible but may need to dismount and use the pavement.
Access for motor vehicles
If you are driving to or from Roman Way from 9.30am on Monday 9 March to 7pm on Friday 13 March, you will need to follow the diversion to get onto the Portway (A4).
- Travelling northbound, the route is via Avon Way, Sea Mills Lane, left onto Shirehampton Road (B4054), Sylvan Way (A4162) and onto the Portway (A4).
- Travelling southbound, the route is via Avon Way, Sea Mills Lane, right onto Shirehamton Road then onto Parrys Lane (B4054), Westbury Road (A4018), Upper Belgrave Road, Clifton Down and Bridge Valley Road (A4176), and onto the Portway (A4).
Access for buses
This road closure won’t impact any bus routes, but the southwest bound bus stop on Roman Way will need to remain suspended.
